The job of a corrections officer is one of the most dangerous in the world. On any given day, I put my life on the line for inmates who are trying to take me away from my family and friends. The inmates outnumber the police in jail, and if you are not very careful, you are going to leave in an ambulance. Each day me and my fellow officers have a few things we have to do to keep the entire population in the jail safer.
If an inmate can get their hands on a weapon in jail, they put other inmates, visitors, and all police working in that jail in jeopardy. We try to stop the flow of all those weapons by having every visitor go through a tough screening process to see if they are in fact carrying anything illegal on their person. The inmates are very persuasive at getting family or fellow gang members to take a huge risk to try and get things in the jail. We do surprise inspections in the cells all day too, and try to take away anything that can be used to hurt another.
When Securus Technologies trained my team to use the new inmate phone system, we had no idea how this would help us to change how we stop the flow of drugs, cellphones, and weapons coming into the jail. Once trained on the LBS software, we discovered that the coded language the inmates will use when on the phone was not as challenging anymore to decipher.
On a number of occasions this month, we heard chatter about where inmates were hiding cellphones, how they were getting various weapons in the yard, and which visitors were sneaking things into the jail. Today we have really tightened things up thanks to Securus Technologies.
The holiday season is a time to spend time with loved ones and to have a happy time with family. However, it can be tough to deal with a loved one who is behind bars. I know this quite well because one of my relatives is in a correction facility. It is tough to keep in touch frequently. The biggest problem with a personal visitation of people in the correction facilities is the long queues and long trips. Many correction facilities are usually located on the outskirts of towns. Trips outside the city have never been exciting, especially during the holiday season. Trips to visit a family member in the correction facility have always been difficult for our family.
Fortunately, a friend advised me on the availability of the Securus video visitation program. He told me of the benefits of the video visitation program. I could not believe that I could make a video call to someone within the correction facility. Securus Christmas Visitation visits have been a real blessing for my family and me. I know that the company has been highly beneficial for other families with their loved ones in the correction facilities. I used to feel agitated for my relative in prison. Apart from Christmas, he could not attend many other events such as graduations, birthdays and weddings. Through, the Securus video visitation program, he has been part of every family gathering.
All I can say about the video visitation program is that it is something that is going to benefit you in several ways. Securus is a company that provides inmate communication. The company has been around for decades and had the expertise in technology. Many people are knowing about the company and using its video visitation technology. The result is Securus has expanded its services to many correction facilities within the United States. I find that the visitation program is especially important during Christmas. It has created a chance to be with a loved one when you could not have had the opportunity.
For families that have struggled to keep in touch with loved ones in correction facilities, then the video visitation program is right for them. I highly recommend using the company to make the call due to its quality. Securus has taken lots of effort to install these high-quality facilities. The program has helped many inmates spend quality time with their loved ones. That is why the visitation program has earned the name a special Christmas gift.
Securus Technologies, one of the nation’s leaders in inmate communication, has not remained quiet about the false allegations made by Global Tel Link in a press release issued in the summer of 2016. While Securus and GTL have collaborated on license agreements in the past, GTL’s misleading allegations about Securus’s patent infringement will likely bring an end to that. Securus has been issued 150 patents and has 90 pending patents over the past 27 years. Moreover, they have never lost a patent-infringement case, whereas GTL has lost two and won zero. Securus is looking to put the battle behind them so that they can continue to provide their clients with superior products and services but is willing to engage in ongoing transparency in regard to GTL’s accusations.
Meanwhile, Securus has received accreditation and an outstanding rating from the U.S. Better Business Bureau. Despite the pressure from GTL, Securus employees are dedicated to the highest level of ethical engagement. Beyond that, they have developed a high capacity call-center geared at providing continuous on-demand support to its customers.
Securus has been in the prison industry long enough to see itself as more than just a profit driver. While GTL was recently found to be double billing and discharging inmates and their families, Securus has condemned the behavior and burden it brings to others in the field. For many families, external prison communication can be an important resource. Not only can it facilitate healthy relationships and ease the transformation from incarceration to citizenship, but opens the door to long distance communication and provides a safe and reliable network that prison systems trust. Securus Technologies is currently present in a great number of prisons within over 33 different state prison systems. It is an important asset and integral innovator in the inmate communication industry.
Securus Technologies, The Pioneer Company In the Provision Technology Solutions To Inmates
We are the leading, American-based, technology company, working to provide technology and communication services and products to incarcerated inmates, to ensure we improve the inmate’s experience and knowledge, in terms of technology, while improving public safety. Our company was founded in the year 1986, and has its headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Securus is one of the pioneers in giving telephone services to the incarcerated, in American prisons.
We work with over 3,400 law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, and public safety agencies. In terms of those incarcerated, we work with over 1.2 million inmates, currently serving jail term across the United States. Our main objective is to connect inmates to their family, friends, and attorneys, while still maintaining both inmates and the public safety through monitoring of recorded data to help with investigative leads. We are also charged with the responsibility of providing quick emergency responses, and connecting the agencies and facilities personnel with information that is critical to their area of operation.
Through our clients, we are able to also ensure that inmates are not left behind in terms of technology. As we provide these self-services, we are passing on crucial knowledge to the inmates. In the recent years, through the help of our team of innovative engineers and the whole technical team, we launched a Video visitation system that would benefit all parties, and make the visitors experience the convenience and worthwhile, and on the other side assist the inmates in bonding easily, with their families. The system’s main focus is to lessen the security procedures involved in visiting the host facility personnel, the inmates, and the visitors.
Our systems will also see a drop in gang-related criminal activities, through the live monitoring and recording capabilities, that come with the system. The merits that come with using the system are unlimited, ranging from the ability to have more visitors at a convenient and less expensive approach. The limited personal touch in the two parties, visitors, and inmates, also ensure improved monitoring of the facilities in terms of entry of contraband products. This is a major relief to visitors, who in earlier cases would be subjected to tedious and humiliating searches that would take long periods of time, just to have a limited chat with their incarcerated member. The Cost of Labour in processes of receiving calls and scheduling onsite visitations is eliminated by the system.
